Chiara Vittucci

Chiara joined Savills as associate director principal researcher in the townscape and heritage team in July 2025 and provides insightful and in-depth research and analytical skills to assess the character, significance and heritage risk of urban and rural sites and is keen to expand her involvement in other research fields.

Chiara has worked in architecture and built heritage since 1998, training as a heritage researcher in 2000. She has worked on small and large scale schemes across the country and in Ireland, with a wide range of clients and with some of the best British and international architectural firms.

Her recent experience has included in-depth studies of London townhouses; Victorian and post-war residential estates; business parks; listed art galleries, offices and industrial buildings. She advises on projects involving conservation areas, registered parks and gardens, scheduled monuments and any property with designated or non designated heritage risk.

Chiara has also written books for the owners of historic properties in various boroughs of London and in Kent; created archives for City of London and Kent churches; and published research in Tower Hamlet’s  Central Area Good Growth Supplementary Planning Document, 2021.

Chiara's work includes

o Conducting comprehensive research on historic buildings, urban developments and cultural landscapes using extensive library of online resources, national and local archival records and other primary sources

o Establishing criteria to assess townscapes, character areas and built fabric ranging in age, function and context

o Writing evidence-based reports, presenting findings and analysis in a detailed but concise form supported by illustrative material including Heritage Statements and Significance Studies

o Producing slick, highly illustrated brochures and 'coffee table' bound books on historic properties and house histories

Chiara volunteers digitising documents for local archives in Ealing, West London.

Outside work, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking and running.
